Welcome to Protea Metering's Prepaid Electricity purchase page.

On this page you have the option to purchase a Prepaid Electricity token via one of four methods. With all methods the token will be SMSed to your cellphone, once the transaction has been completed. Be sure to have your Meter number ready to complete the transaction.  

Debit Order Request

In order to make use of this option you have to be "pre-approved". To be "pre-approved" all you need to do is complete the necessary documentation available from the Documentation page and send it through to our office. If you are already registered as a "pre-approved" client, please click on the Debit Order Purchase below.  

Bank Deposits

Deposits can be made directly into our bank account. Please fax us your proof of payment to receive your Electricity Token.

Credit Card Request

This method does not require any documentation. All you need is a valid Credit Card. You will be redirected to a secure SSL-certified website to make the purchase. Please click on the Credit Card Purchase button to begin the transaction.  

EasyPay

Protea Metering is now integrated with EasyPay. This means that you can visit any EasyPay outlet to Purchase electricity. Purchase points include national outlets of Pick 'n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Lewis, Vodacom containers (via Sandulela/Wired Loop), selected petroleum C-stores, ATMs of some of South Africa's largest banks, EasyPay’s website and many more. Consumers can also purchase their prepaid electricity via their cellphone handset using an MTN Banking produced, MTN MobileMoney.

Remember to have your Meternumber at hand when you visit your EasyPay outlet.
