Electricity Purchase Options

Welcome to Protea Metering's Prepaid Electricity purchase page. On this page you have the option to purchase a Prepaid Electricity token via one of four convenient methods. With all methods the token will be SMSed to your cellphone once the transaction has been completed. Be sure to have your Meter number ready to complete the transaction.

Debit Order Request

In order to make use of this option you have to be "pre-approved". To be "pre-approved" all you need to do is complete the necessary documentation available from the Documentation page and send it through to our office. If you are already registered as a "pre-approved" client, please click below.

Credit Card Purchase

This method does not require any documentation. All you need is a valid Credit Card. You will be redirected to a secure SSL-certified website to make the purchase. Please click below to begin the transaction.

EasyPay Network

Protea Metering is now integrated with EasyPay. This means you can visit any EasyPay outlet to purchase electricity, including Pick 'n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Vodacom containers, ATMs, and more. You can also purchase via cellphone using MTN MobileMoney.

Remember to have your Meter number at hand when visiting an EasyPay outlet.

Bank Deposits

Deposits can be made directly into our bank account. Please fax us your proof of payment to receive your Electricity Token.
